With my family of 7 in tow, I have been fortunate to experience a variety of cultures working in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, Auckland and USA.
Among the many brands I have helped achieve their goals are Nike, H&R Block, NBC, Lion Nathan, Westpac, Victorian Tourism, Peters Ice Cream, Toyota, McDonalds, Cadillac, Chrysler and Nestle to name a few.
After 25 years I still love winning awards but nothing beats doing the work that defines a category and moves the needle.
I love working on big brands. It’s harder and it takes a lot more effort but seeing work make an impact is its greatest reward.
Yeah, I’ve won my fair share of trophies, but it’s the way a big idea can influence the market that really interests me.
I think the most exciting thing about working in the communication industry today is how our ideas can literally go anywhere, be anything and do what’s never been done with the help of technology and new social behaviours. Communities now interact with ideas, shape them and occasionally even take ownership of them. That’s exciting.
But what I always keep in mind is a brand’s central idea. That idea is king and dictates what surrounds it, and that idea can go on to achieve the wonderful things it was imagined and created to accomplish.
